Nov 19, 2020
Start: 17:00   End: 18:30

Keeping a family enterprise or business united and aligned can be a daunting task – especially in such an uncertain and complex world. Family constitutions and corporate governance systems are designed to bring order, but don’t usually cover informal social dynamics.

In this session we will look at the reasons legal governance approaches often fail and argue that the family’s core narrative should be built-into any approach. Narrative embedded governance will have a better chance of maintaining cohesion and motivating people to work together.

After this session, participants will have cogent arguments as to why they should improve the governance of their business and how to do it.

The event will start at 17:00 UK time and will last for approximately 1,5 hr. You can to connect with your video on and will be able to use your microphone for the second part of the webinar.

The session has 2 parts, starting with an introduction that provides essential background information followed by an applied section

  • Dominik v. Eynern will contrast and combine the ideas of narratives and family constitutions using an interdisciplinary framework including cognitive neuroscience.
  • Mike Sergeant will highlight the practical implications of creating an effective narrative and the numerous applications in corporate settings.
  • Q&A session with all participants - all attendees will have an opportunity to ask trainers their questions.
